Introduction
These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you and BGA Beauty LLC when you use this website, request a quotation, place an order, send a piece for repair or visit the studio. The studio trades as BGA Beauty and operates from 233 N Redwood Rd APT 424, Salt Lake City - 84116-3926, United States (US). By browsing the site or sending us a message, you confirm that you have read these terms and that you accept them.
We have written the terms in plain English because the studio is a small hand strung jewelry business and we would rather be understood than admired. If any part of this document is unclear, write to us at beauty@bgabeauty.mom before you place an order and we will explain it. Nothing in this document is intended to take away a right that the law gives you as a consumer.

1. The agreement
These terms, together with the written quotation and the work order for a specific piece, form the whole agreement between you and BGA Beauty LLC. A brochure, a website page or a conversation at the counter is a description of the service, not a separate promise. If the work order states something different from these terms, the work order takes priority for that order only.
You may not change these terms unless we agree in writing. We may update them for future orders as described in the changes section below. The version that applies to your order is the version in force on the day you accept the quotation and pay the deposit.
If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest of the agreement remains in force. We will replace the unenforceable clause with a lawful clause that comes closest to its purpose.
2. Eligibility to order
You must be at least eighteen years old to place an order in your own name. A younger customer may receive a piece ordered by a parent or guardian, and the adult remains responsible for the order, the payment and the care instructions.
Where you order on behalf of another person, for example for a bridal party or a group gift, you confirm that you have that person permission to share a measurement and a delivery address. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply and for passing our care instructions to the wearer.
We may decline an order when we cannot make the piece safely, when the material requested is not available, when a design would reproduce a protected work, or when a previous order remains unpaid. We will explain the reason in writing rather than simply cancel.
3. Use of the website
The website is provided for browsing, for learning about the studio and for contacting us. You may print a page for personal reference. You may not copy the site content into another website, scrape it for a competing service, or use automated tools to overload the server.
You agree not to introduce malicious code, attempt to gain access to an area that is not public, or use the contact form to send bulk commercial messages, harassment or content that is unlawful. We may block access from an address that is used for abuse, and we may report a serious attack to the relevant authority.
The contact form prepares an email in your own mail application. It does not transmit information to a server on this site. You are responsible for the content of the message you send and for ensuring that any attachment is safe to open.
We try to keep the site available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, a hosting failure or a security incident can interrupt service. The site is offered on an as available basis, and no part of these terms guarantees a particular response time for the website itself.
4. Quotations and pricing
A quotation is prepared after a conversation about the design, the materials and the timeline. It lists the piece, the estimated length or size, the clasp, the materials and the total price. A quotation is valid for thirty days unless it states a different period, because bead prices and stock change.
Prices are stated in United States dollars and include the labor of the bench. Sales tax is added where required by law. Shipping, insurance and any special packaging are shown separately when they apply.
If the design changes after you approve the quotation, we prepare a revised quotation before the additional work begins. We do not add charges to a completed order without your written agreement, except where a customer supplies materials that prove unusable and a replacement must be purchased; in that case we contact you first and wait for approval.
A quotation is an offer, not a reservation of stock. A particular bead lot can sell out before the deposit is paid. If that happens, we propose a close substitute and give you the option to withdraw without charge.
5. Orders and acceptance
An order begins when you accept the quotation and pay the deposit described in the payment section. At that point we open a work order and record the length, the bead size, the clasp and the intended date. We confirm the order by email so that both sides have the same description.
We may refuse an order when the requested design cannot be made to a safe standard, when a material is misrepresented, or when the order appears to infringe the rights of another designer. We may also pause an order when a customer has not supplied a measurement or a material needed to begin, and the timeline is adjusted from the date the missing item arrives.
Once the deposit is paid, a change to the design is handled as a revision. A small change, such as a clasp swap, is usually absorbed within the original quotation. A large change, such as a different stone or a different length, requires a revised quotation. We will tell you which category applies before any extra work starts.
You are responsible for reviewing the confirmation email. If a detail is wrong, tell us within three business days. After the strand has been threaded, some changes become a rebuild rather than a correction, and the cost reflects that.
6. Measurements and sizing
A measurement is the foundation of a comfortable piece. We prefer a measurement taken with a soft tape against the skin, recorded in centimeters or inches and labeled clearly. Where a measurement is estimated by the customer or taken from an existing piece, we note that on the work order and the fit is not guaranteed to the same degree.
A fitting at the studio is the most reliable method for a bridal set or a high value commission. We offer a fitting appointment for that reason. If you cannot attend, we can work from a measured existing piece and a photograph of the wearer, but we will state the limitation in writing.
If a finished piece does not fit because a measurement was incorrect, we offer one adjustment at a reduced bench fee within sixty days. If the piece does not fit because of an error on our side, the adjustment is free. The distinction is recorded at intake so that neither side has to argue about it later.
Lengths are measured along the strand including the clasp, which is the standard used at the bench. If you compare our length with a piece from another maker, allow for a difference in how the clasp is counted.
7. Materials and description
We describe materials honestly. Glass is called glass, stone is named by its common trade name, pearl is described as freshwater or shell, and metal findings are described as gold tone, silver tone, sterling or solid where that is accurate. We do not describe a coated bead as a gemstone and we do not use a trade name in a way that suggests a different material.
Natural stone varies. Color, transparency and marking differ between lots and within a single lot. A photograph shows the character of the material but cannot guarantee that your bead will match the photograph exactly. We will always describe the range before you approve a quotation.
If you supply your own beads or a keepsake, we inspect them and report any fault before work begins. We are not responsible for a break caused by a flaw that was present when the item arrived, and we will ask you to confirm in writing that you wish us to proceed with a fragile item. We do not drill, cut or alter a customer supplied object without a specific instruction.
Metal findings are sourced from suppliers who state their composition. Where a customer has a metal sensitivity, we recommend nickel free findings and note the choice on the work order. We cannot guarantee that a customer supplied component is free of an allergen.
8. Handmade variation
Every piece is made by hand at a single bench. That means small differences between two pieces of the same design. The order of the beads may shift slightly, the position of a knot may vary by a millimeter, and the tone of a natural stone may differ. These variations are a feature of the craft and are not a defect.
We photograph each finished piece before packing so that the customer can see the actual strand rather than a sample image. If a customer is not happy with the variation, we discuss options before shipping. A replacement stone can often be arranged if the request is made before the clasp is closed.
The line used by the studio, every piece one of a kind, is a description of this handwork rather than a claim that no similar piece exists. We may make a related design for another customer in a different color or length, and the two pieces will still differ in the details that come from the hand.
9. Payment terms
Custom commissions require a deposit of one half of the quoted price before the board layout begins. The balance is due before collection or before dispatch. Repair work under a modest value may be paid in full on completion. Bridal sets require the deposit at booking and the balance fourteen days before the event date.
We accept payment in person by card or through a payment link supplied by a regulated processor. We do not accept a payment to an account that is not named in our written confirmation. If you receive a request to pay a different account, treat it as fraud and call the studio on the published number.
An invoice is issued for every order. The invoice states the amount paid, the remaining balance and the date the balance is due. If a balance is not paid within thirty days after the completion notice, we may store the finished piece and charge a reasonable storage fee after giving written notice. We will not sell a customer piece to recover a debt without following the process required by law.
Prices are quoted in United States dollars. A bank or card provider may add a currency conversion fee for a customer outside the United States. That fee is set by the provider and is not received by the studio.
10. Timelines and delays
A timeline is given in business days from the date the deposit is received and the design is approved. A typical custom strand takes ten to fourteen days. A bridal set takes three to four weeks. Repair work takes three to five business days when parts are in stock.
A timeline is an estimate based on the current bench load and the availability of materials. It is not a guaranteed delivery date unless the work order says so in writing. We build slack into bridal schedules for this reason, and we tell customers early when a date is at risk.
A delay caused by a missing measurement, an unanswered approval request or a late material delivery shifts the timeline by the length of the delay. A delay caused by the studio is our responsibility, and we will offer priority bench time or another fair remedy where the timeline was guaranteed in writing.
We are not responsible for a delay caused by a carrier, a customs inspection or an event outside our control. In that case we provide tracking information and help with a claim where possible, but the carrier terms govern the transit.
11. Collection, shipping and risk
Finished pieces can be collected at the studio by appointment or shipped to an address you provide. Shipping is quoted separately and includes tracking. Insurance is included for high value pieces unless you decline it in writing.
Risk passes to you when you collect the piece or when the carrier records delivery at the address you supplied. Please check the parcel on arrival and report any visible damage within forty eight hours so that a claim can be opened while the evidence is fresh.
If a parcel is returned to the studio because the address was wrong or because the recipient did not collect it, we contact you to arrange a second dispatch. A second dispatch may incur a new shipping charge. We store a returned piece safely while we wait for an instruction.
For a customer outside the United States, import duty and local tax are the responsibility of the recipient. We complete the customs declaration accurately and we will not describe a commercial order as a gift.
12. Repair and restringing terms
Repair intake includes a written description of the fault and a photograph of the piece in the condition it arrived. We do not begin work on a repair until we have approval for the quoted price. If the inspection reveals additional damage, we send a revised quotation and wait for a reply.
We are not responsible for a break that occurs in an already weakened bead or thread away from the repaired section, unless we caused the weakness. We will always tell you when a piece is too fragile to guarantee, and we may decline a repair that we believe would fail again quickly.
Where a replacement bead is needed, we search our stock and show the options. A close match is not always possible. We do not substitute a visibly different bead without approval, and we do not discard original beads removed during a restring unless you ask us to.
Uncollected repairs are held for ninety days after the completion notice. After that period we contact you again, and if we cannot reach you we handle the piece under the abandoned property rules of the state where the studio is located. We would much rather return a piece than hold it, so please keep your contact details current.
13. Returns and cancellations
A custom piece is made for one person and cannot be resold easily. For that reason a custom commission may be cancelled for a full refund of the deposit before the board layout begins. After threading has started, the deposit covers materials and bench time that cannot be recovered, and the amount refunded is reduced accordingly. The exact position is stated in the written quotation.
An everyday piece from bench stock may be returned in unworn condition within fourteen days of collection for an exchange or a refund, less any shipping cost. Earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons once the sealed packet is opened. A gift box that has been opened and worn follows the same rule as the jewelry inside it.
A repair may be cancelled before the work begins for a full refund. Once the thread has been replaced, the service is complete and the fee is not refundable, though we will correct any fault in our own work at no charge.
To start a return, write to beauty@bgabeauty.mom with the order reference. Do not send a piece back before we confirm the return address and the method, because an uninsured parcel that is lost in transit cannot always be traced.
14. Craft warranty
We warrant our own craft for twelve months from collection. If a knot loosens, a clasp fails under normal use or a finding we supplied opens at a seam, we repair it at no charge. The warranty covers the work of the bench.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, a break caused by a fall or a pull, wear to a plated finish, discoloration from perfume or chlorine, or damage caused by a repair performed by another workshop. It does not cover a customer supplied bead that breaks at a pre existing flaw we noted at intake.
To make a warranty claim, send the piece with the order reference and a short description of the fault. We inspect it, tell you whether the claim is covered, and complete a covered repair within a reasonable time. A covered repair does not extend the original warranty period, though we may offer a new period for a replacement section at our discretion.
We also offer a free annual inspection to any customer who has bought or repaired a piece at the studio. The inspection catches thread wear at the clasp before it becomes a break, and it is the best way to keep a strand in service for many years.
15. Care and safe use
A beaded strand is a mechanical object as well as a decorative one. Keep it away from perfume, hair spray, chlorine and household cleaners. Remove it before swimming, bathing or sleeping. Store it flat or hanging rather than coiled tightly in a box, because a tight coil trains the thread into a kink.
Small beads present a choking hazard to young children and to pets. Keep a piece out of reach when it is not being worn. A strand with a magnetic clasp should not be worn by a person with an implanted medical device, and it should be kept away from a pacemaker and from any magnet sensitive equipment.
Inspect the piece once a year for a stretched section near the clasp, a frayed thread end or a ring that has opened. Stop wearing the piece and contact the studio if you find a fault. A small repair now is cheaper and safer than a break that scatters beads in a public place.
Care instructions are supplied with every piece on a printed card. Those instructions form part of the agreement, and a failure caused by ignoring them is not covered by the craft warranty.
16. Intellectual property
The text, layout, illustrations and photographs on this website belong to BGA Beauty LLC unless another owner is credited. You may not reproduce a substantial part of the site for a commercial purpose without written permission.
A design made by the studio remains the work of the studio. When you commission a piece, you receive the physical piece and the right to wear it and to give it away. You do not receive the right to reproduce the design commercially or to have it copied by another maker for sale. A one time copy for a family member is usually acceptable, and we are happy to discuss it.
If you supply a design, a photograph or a mark, you confirm that you have the right to use it. We will not knowingly reproduce a protected design. If a claim is made against the studio because of material you supplied, you agree to help resolve it fairly.
We may photograph a finished piece for our own records and, with your permission, for the studio portfolio. We never publish a customer name, a face or an address without a separate written consent. You may withdraw permission for a portfolio image at any time and we will remove it from the site.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the studio is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or emotional distress arising from a delay, a defect or the loss of a parcel in transit. Our liability for a defective piece is limited to the repair or replacement of the piece or a refund of the price paid, at our choice.
This limitation does not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, or to any liability that the law does not allow us to exclude. It also does not limit your statutory consumer rights, which continue in full.
Where a customer supplied object is damaged during work, our liability is limited to its declared value if the value was stated in writing at intake and the item was insured accordingly. We ask for a declared value on any heirloom for exactly this reason.
Nothing in these terms requires you to waive a right that cannot lawfully be waived in your place of residence. If a clause is found to exceed the limit the law allows, it is reduced to the maximum that is lawful and the rest of the agreement stands.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to a conflict of law rule that would point to another jurisdiction. The state and federal courts located in Utah have jurisdiction over a dispute that cannot be resolved by discussion.
Before filing a claim, please write to us with a clear description of the problem and the outcome you are seeking. Most matters are resolved in a single conversation or with a repair, a replacement or a refund. We take complaints seriously because a small studio lives on its reputation.
If a dispute cannot be settled directly, the parties agree to try mediation with a neutral mediator before starting litigation, except where urgent relief is needed or where the law gives a consumer a right to proceed directly. Each side bears its own costs of mediation unless a mediator decides otherwise.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from using a public dispute resolution body or a small claims procedure that is available in the place of residence, where the law provides that route.
19. Changes to these terms
We review these terms at least once a year and whenever the studio changes a service, a policy or a legal requirement. The current version is published on this page with an effective date and a review date at the top.
A change applies to orders accepted after the new version takes effect. An order already in progress continues under the terms that applied when the deposit was paid, unless a change is required by law and cannot be limited. In that case we tell affected customers what has changed and why.
If we make a material change, we may send a short notice to a customer with an active order. Continuing to use the website after a change is published does not by itself create a new order relationship, and we do not treat silence as agreement to a term that reduces an existing right.
20. Contact details
Questions about these terms, a quotation, a repair or a return can be sent to the studio by email, telephone or post. Please include the order reference when you write about an existing piece so that the message reaches the right page of the notebook.
